Patrons of the Rochester Women’s Network

Louise Woerner is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HCR, a certified home health organization founded in 1978, with three employees, which now employs over 600 people.

HCR has received many awards for quality and innovation.  HCR was presented with the 2006 Rochester Business Ethics Award and was the only agency in New York State named as a Top 100 home care agency in the country by HomeCare Elite 2006.

Ms. Woerner is active in the community and has numerous honors, including an award in entrepreneurship from the President of the United States.  She is the first living woman to be inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame.  In 2000, she was the first non-nurse inducted into the American Academy of Nursing.  She has served on the National Advisory Boards for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in the Nursing Shortage and in Nursing Leadership, since 1998.

New York State Governor George Pataki recently appointed Ms. Woerner to the New York State Health Foundation.  Ms. Woerner has completed the two-term limit on the New York Federal Reserve; she serves as a Director for First Niagara Financial Services, a NASDAQ company (Chair of the Audit Committee), Health Now Inc. (Chair of the Compensation Committee), The Center for Governmental Research, AAA of Western and Central NY (Chair of the Investments Committee).  She co-chaired the Budget Team for Monroe County, NY.
