Expanded Care
Expanded Care delivers services not traditionally covered by your medical insurance to help you rehabilitate faster or more fully, or to keep you safe and independent at home. Regardless of your level of need or medical condition, HCR offers skilled and caring professionals who will help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
Expanded Care services are often provided in addition to those services covered by your insurance provider. Through Expanded Care we may be able to increase the speed or extent of your recovery by increasing the frequency, duration, or scope of services beyond that which your insurer will pay for. For example, in-home physical therapy and the assistance of home health aides following joint replacement surgery are only eligible for coverage under Medicare so long as you are home-bound. As a result, patients frequently receive only short-term in-home care due to insurer-imposed limitations on visits and/or hours. Those services eligible for insurance coverage may only fix the immediate problem, and may not be sufficient for you to achieve the full extent of recovery you are
capable of.
HCR can Provide Additional Assistance
Beyond those clinical, therapeutic, or home health aide services which are deemed medically necessary and thus eligible for insurance coverage, HCR can provide assistance with a whole range of tasks on a private care basis, including:
- bathing, dressing and grooming
- meal preparation
- laundry and ironing
- coordination of, and transportation to appointments
- errands and shopping
- care and feeding of gentle pets
- assistance at, and transportation to outings and functions
- companionship
- supervision
