Why Nurses and Therapists Choose HCR
- We are a nursing-driven organization.
- Our CEO has supported the nursing profession on a national level. She was founder and CEO of the Friends of the National Institute for Nursing Research, has been appointed by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to assist its efforts to develop nursing leadership, and she is the only non-nurse named to Sigma Theta Tau, the international nursing scholarship association.
- These relationships provide our nurses the opportunity for reasearch and other grant opportunities.
- We have some of the best therapists in Monroe County. This is a very professional and dedicated team and if you want to work with the best, HCR is the place.
- We offer extensive training and orientation to nurses and therapists joining us who are new to home care.
- We offer a number of Specialty Programs for nurses and therapists interested in gerontology, cardiac care, maternal and child health, orthopedics, wound care, ostomy care and home infusion therapy.
HCR's Healthcare Practice
Our model of practice is customer centered, rather than disease centered; addresses the whole person and is flexible in design. Populations served include clients across the age span at all levels of prevention. Care includes traditional treatment modalities coupled with health promotion and science-based care. HCR contributes to one's health status throughout one's lifetime. Our practice:
- Focuses on the positive and optimistic.
- Focuses on the whole person.
- Promotes health.
- Uses best practices and evidence-based care as defined by nursing research.
- Uses nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle practices which are behaviorally related to health and disease.
- Emphasizes internal control, power, and responsibility of the individual.
